What is worship like at Testify?  Here is what we do during worship as a biblically based and discussion orientated church:

Biblically Based

As a biblically based church we

1.      Pray (Eph. 6:18; 1 Thess. 5:17)

“Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication.” - Ephesians 6:18

 Pray without ceasing” - 1 Thessalonians 5:17

2.      Sing (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16)

“Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts.” - Ephesians 5:19

With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.” - Colossians 3:16

3.      Give Financially (1 Cor. 16:1-2)

Now concerning the collection for the saints…on the first day of every week, each of you is to put aside and save whatever extra you earn.” - 1 Corinthians 16:1-2

4.      Partake In Communion (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-34)

“On the first day of the week…we met to break bread.” - Acts 20:7

For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’  In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’  For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.” - 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

5.      Have Spiritual Lessons (Acts 5:42; 1 Cor. 14:26; Col. 3:16)

And every day in the temple and at home they did not cease to teach and proclaim Jesus as the Messiah.” - Acts 5:42

When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.” - 1 Corinthians 14:26

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom.” - Colossians 3:16

Discussion Orientated

As a discussion orientated church, we encourage everyone in the audience to ask questions during the sermon and homily and openly invite the audience to spiritually grow together through dialogue about what is being presented in those lessons.  We hold that worshiping God should be fun, reverent, and intellectually engaging.  Therefore, bring those questions you always wanted to ask in church but never did; we respect everyone’s opinion and we aim to learn what the biblical text tells us about God and each other.  As Christians we have found that we have more similarities than differences and that we all share a mutual goal of living eternally with our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
